Academic Quadrathalon
- The competition allows students to test their knowledge and skills about livestock.
- The contest consists of an oral presentation, written test, lab practicum and a team quiz bowl.
- UW-Madison and UW-Platteville compete in the fall and the winning teams from both universities represent their college at the regional contest in the spring.

Club 101
- Saddle and Sirloin members help organize a livestock show for Animal Science 101 students.
- Students learn to care for and exhibit a horse, lamb, steer, heifer or pig.
- The Animal Science 101 students show off their new skills while they participate in a showmanship contest with their chosen animal.

Meat Animal Evaluation Contest
- Animal Science students compete in a national competition which consists of four divisions: breeding stock judging, market animal estimates and judging, meat judging and a team communication division.

- Saddle & Sirloin is a proud member of the National Block & Bridle.
- Each year members attend the National Block & Bridle Convention, where students attend seminars, take farm and industry tours and interact with fellow animal science enthusiasts.
